Fan favourite Paul Strudley has confirmed he’ll be returning for another season ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
The talented keeper who won the 2021/22 supporters away player of the season earned deserving plaudits following his first full campaign with the club. We’re incredibly proud that ‘Struds’ has agreed to sign up for another season.
“I’ve worked with Paul for a long time now. Said Dan Brownlie I’m always blown away by his consistency and his ability to improve areas of his play – but then you watch him train and you soon see why he stays at the top of his game. I’ve spoken to so many young keepers down the years and I always encourage them to come and watch him, his application is remarkable. Something that fans may not know of him as it’s secluded within the four walls of our changing room – but he’s a very calming influence. Changing rooms can get quite lively, especially at half-time. Then he walks in and says ‘keep doing what we’re doing, we’re doing OK’ and everyone relaxes with a uniformed ‘fair enough’. He’s trusted by everyone and that counts for an awful lot. I’m very lucky to have worked with such a brilliant person for so long.”
Paul is currently on holiday, but will be returning prior to the season starting.
