Non-League Day was built to shine a light on the wonderful world of the grassroots game. But the thing about football, is that it’s much more than just football.
We’re acutely aware of the unfolding situation just beyond Hampshire’s borders in Berkshire, at Reading Football Club. Having faced the harsh realities of an unscrupulous owner ourselves, we find the parallels striking, particularly with the recent discourse surrounding the purported asset-stripping and potential sale of their training ground.
The essence of non-league football lies in rallying around those in need. That’s why, as a club, we’re committed to offer a helping hand to our nearish-neighbours, Reading FC.
On this Non-League Day, any Reading FC season ticket holder purchasing an online match-day ticket can do so at a reduced price of £8 – please bring your Reading FC season ticket with you on entry. Moreover, we pledge to donate 50% of the proceeds from each of the ‘Reading FC Season Ticket Offer’ match-day ticket to the fundraising initiatives championed by Reading fan groups.
In the interest of full transparency, please note that the 50% donation will be based on the ticket value after VAT has been deducted. This is an online only offer to manage capacity.
We must not get bored of doing the right things; we must not tire of banging the same drum – we must all keep trying to make a difference for the future of football.
We look forward to welcoming any Reading FC fans who would like to join us on Saturday 23rd March when we host table toppers Chesham United FC.
