Basingstoke Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of central midfielder James Dickson from Raynes Park Vale. The 23-year-old makes the move from the London based side having made a string of impressive performances this season.
‘Dicko’ joined RPV at the beginning of the 2023/24 season after a three year spell at Dorking Wanderers. He quickly established himself as a key player in the heart of their midfield with prominent displays showcasing his tenacity and work rate.
Dan Brownlie expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition, stating “James has trained with us already this week and he’s already shown his quality. He strikes an uncanny resemblance to that of Owen Hargreaves and shares many of his qualities too. He’s a really honest worker with great energy, hold that heartiness to win back possession and can lead a press from deeper areas. We’re looking forward to working with him.”
James who will be available for selection for tomorrow’s fixture at Hungerford Town said:
“I’m really looking forward to getting started and being out there with the boys. Hopefully I can help in picking up some form until the end of the season and put some pressure on them play off spots – as we know anything can happen at this stage of the season.”
We look forward to welcoming James and his family to Basingstoke Town Football Club.
