We’re delighted to announce the signing of attacking player Alfie Bridgman.
After signing for National League South Side Eastbourne Borough last summer, following his release from Pompey, the 20-year-old joined up with Bognor Regis Town, where he’d previously enjoyed a loan spell.
Bridgman played a handful of times for Portsmouth including a Hampshire Cup tie against Basingstoke at Winklebury in September 2021.
Dan Brownlie added “We’ve been in contact with Alfie for quite sometime now; it’s something we tried to make happen last year but for various reasons we were unable to. He’s had a great education in football; but has also managed the transition into the senior non-league game which isn’t always easy. He’s really comfortable on the ball, he’s got that classiness in the way he moves. It’s also a bonus that he play a fair few positions both across the front line and in midfield. We’re really looking forward to working with him.”
In June 2022, Alfie was called up to the Malta U19 squad for the first time and has since featured for Malta U21’s in their UEFA European U21 Championship qualifying campaign in October.
Please join us in welcoming Alfie to ‘Stoke.
