We’re delighted to announce the signings of Connor Barrett from Didcot Town and Mack Allan from AFC Bournemouth.
Connor made 113 appearances across two spells with Didcot, finding the net an impressive 43 times.
Dan Brownlie commented:
“He’s a top technician and a dead-ball specialist – something we’ve been missing lately. On top of that, he’s a real threat in front of goal, both as a scorer and creator. We’ve come up against Connor plenty of times, but more often than not, he was the standout performer in our Academy games. He’s versatile in attack, capable of playing high up the pitch, centrally or off the right, but thanks to his range of passing – both long and short – he also has the vision to operate in a deeper, quarterback-style role when needed.”
Mack Allan, a promising young goalkeeper, has been with The Cherries since the age of seven, developing his craft under the guidance of former Everton and Wales No.1, Neville Southall. More recently, he has gained senior experience on loan at Bashley, also featuring for AFC Totton.
Dan Brownlie added:
“First off, a huge thanks to AFC Bournemouth for their speed and professionalism in getting this sorted. While we stayed proactive, we were confident Granty’s red card would be overturned. Unfortunately, without clearer evidence of an obvious refereeing error, our appeal was unsuccessful. Thankfully, we’ve been able to bring in a keeper of real quality in Mack, and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Both players are available for selection in tomorrow’s match day squad.
Thank you to Didcot Town, AFC Bournemouth and Bashley for their understanding, speed of assistance and professionalism with all of the above.
