A Rallying Call

Basingstoke Town Community FC: A Rallying Call to Our Fans

At Basingstoke Town Community FC, we’ve always prided ourselves on being a 100% fan-owned, not-for-profit club. Every ticket sold, every pint poured, and every scarf worn goes directly into running the club we all love. We do things the right way: living within our means, reinvesting every penny, and building our future responsibly.

But running a football club on tight margins has its challenges. This season, we’ve faced increased costs from facility hire to equipment, Academy investment not covered by anticipated fees, less commercial uptake and delays with the Clubhouse and associated Clubhouse funding which have hampered our continued growth. These items contribute to additional strain on our finances. As a board, we’ve set ourselves ambitious goals to generate the revenue needed to keep the club strong and sustainable. But we can’t do it alone—we need your help.

This is our rallying call to the Basingstoke family. Together, we can navigate this challenge and emerge stronger. Here’s how YOU can get involved:

  1. Crowdfunding: A Little Goes a Long Way

We’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign to give fans a simple way to contribute directly. Every donation, big or small, helps keep the club running. As a special thank-you, the 11 highest donors (along with 5 randomly selected contributors, no matter the amount) will receive a special memento: a player worn 2023/25 home shirt at the end of the season.

We’ve set the starter target to £2000 but donations of all sizes are gratefully received and will be included in the draw for the 5 shirts alongside the 11 biggest donators.

2. Become a Community Club Member

As a fan-owned club, we are run and owned by our supporters. Become a Community Club Member for £25 and you’ll own one share in our Club. As a Member, you’ll receive  Members perks such as drink discounts in the Clubhouse and be able to vote on topics like electing new board members and next season’s kit.

If you’re already signed up, encourage  a friend or colleague to do it to or why not sign a family member up as a gift.

3. Fill the Terraces – and Bring a Friend!

A great way to support BTFC is to fill the terraces. Bring friends and family to fixtures, cheer the team on, and enjoy a drink in the bar before or after the match.

We’ll also be inviting local youth football clubs to matches as another way of increasing matchday football whilst supporting other clubs within the Basingstoke community.

4. Club Initiatives and Matchday Competitions

Sign up to the 200 Club – the club’s monthly lottery draw with cash prizes every month btfc.co.uk/lottery

Support matchday initiatives like the 50/50 draw, the Golden Goal competition. These small contributions add up and help us raise vital funds every matchday.

5. Volunteer

We’re always looking for fans to step up and help behind the scenes:

• Volunteer as a steward to reduce our security costs.
• Sell matchday competition tickets.
• Gate staff.
• Programme editor(s).

Volunteers get free entry, free travel and other perks where applicable too.

Please email club@btfc.co.uk to volunteer!

6. Support Commercial Opportunities

Do you know a local business that might want to sponsor the club? We have a number of opportunities starting from as little as £65 (btfc.co.uk/matchball) and can create packages to suit all budgets.

Check out our new Commercial Brochure via btfc.co.uk/commercial.

Sponsorships are a vital source of income and an excellent way for businesses to connect with the community whilst supporting the club.

Any current sponsors who are interested in supporting us further to support the cause, we’d be very keen on speaking to you too.

7. Gear Up with BTFC Merchandise

Show your support by sporting BTFC merch. Whether it’s a shirt, scarf, a polo, or a warm coat for those winter fixtures, every purchase supports the club.

8. The Clubhouse

Our clubhouse is more than just a meeting place—it’s a vital source of income for the club.

We’re open during the week and we show all live football matches with Sky Sports, TNT and Amazon on our numerous widescreen TVs.

By booking the Clubhouse for private parties, events, or meetings, you can directly contribute to BTFC’s finances while enjoying a fantastic venue. Whether it’s a birthday party, a community event, or a business gathering, the clubhouse is available for hire, and every booking makes a big difference.

On matchdays, don’t forget to stop by the clubhouse hatch for your drinks and snacks. Every penny spent there goes back into the club.

9. Boost the Budget: Help Us Strengthen the Team

We’re excited to announce the relaunch of our ‘Boost the Budget’ initiative! While we’ve not reduced the player budget, your contributions to this fund will allow us to strengthen it even further, giving manager Dan Brownlie additional resources to support the squad. Every donation directly goes towards the first team player budget.

If you want to sign up, please email club@btfc.co.uk or set up £10, £20 or £35 monthly payments you can do so via:
