We are proud to announce the signing of experienced defender Curtis Angell.
The Berkshire based defender joins us from our friends at Thatcham Town. Curtis, 31, has also represented Hungerford Town during their time in the National League South and also featured during a shorter stint earlier this season before returning back to his home town club, Thatcham Town. Angell was part of the Thatcham Town side that won the 2018 FA Vase at Wembley.
“It’s a great signing for us.” Dan Brownlie noted “Curtis holds a great deal of experience. He can play anywhere across the back four; and quite uniquely he is as gifted off either foot. We spoke at length before getting him in, and he used a phrase that Billy Upton said when he first signed – ‘I just love defending’.”
He’s an organiser, aerially dominant and a good footballer. He knows what he’s good at; and in terms of what we’ve been looking for – he fits the bill. We’re really looking forward to working with Curtis and we’ve no doubt the supporters will get behind our new man.”
“I just want to win.” said new signing Curtis Angell, “I love defending and I love winning and I think I can help the Club do that. It’s a huge club, with great tradition and a terrific fan base – I’m looking forward to working on their behalf to get the right results and climb that table.”
With no game this week it gives Curtis the opportunity to get to know his new teammates ahead of our next fixture away at Poole Town.
Welcome aboard, Curtis.
