Two New Signings

Following our recent announcement of experienced defender Aidan Lewis’ signing up for the 2021/22 campaign, it’s time to look at the other end of the age range! We’re proud to announce that exciting talents D’andre Brown and Lloyd Snell have signed on the dotted line.

D’andre Brown is a product of our Basingstoke Academy where he continually impressed and earned a place in Dan Brownlie’s first team last season but the short season was blighted with injury. Lloyd Snell has featured a number of times for the first team and has continually proven his value in a number of positions – Lloyd is now a third year student with our academy.

Dan Brownlie commented on his most recent signings:

“I’ve been really impressed with the pair of them. The break has seen their bodies develop naturally size wise, but in fairness to them both – they’ve been working hard with the physical attributes of their game and you can see the difference its made already. We put the pair of them on loan with Cove FC to gain some mens experience and it’s done them the world of good.”

“D’andre is a special talent. He’s an old fashioned type of midfielder – he’s box to box but his strengths really excel in the higher areas of the pitch. He is strong, very good on the ball with a decent pass and as our supporters will have witnessed at the weekend, a good strike on the kid too. He’s got a lot to learn, but he’s got bags of potential and we’re excited about where we can get him to.”

“Lloyd is one of those players who you could stick anywhere on the park and he’ll do more than ‘just a job’. He’s an intelligent boy, a great listener and has a real willingness to improve – and at his age, that is half the battle. He’s really shown his qualities over the past year and we’re proud that he want’s to further his development with us.”

“They’re both great lads and a testament to the club’s youth policy and the quality of coaching they’ve received from the likes of Aaron Nicholson and our other youth coaches – they should be proud in the way that they conduct themselves both on and off the pitch. They’ve both got bright futures and will continue to get chances as long as they maintain that work ethic and professionalism that has seen them get this far. We’re very pleased to have them on board.”

You can see both players in action on Saturday afternoon when we host Ascot United FC. Tickets will be on sale soon and also available on the gate.
