We can confirm that Basingstoke Town’s FA Cup tie has been rearranged for Monday 14th September at 7.45pm and will be held at Winchester City’s Stadium.
The previous round that saw us win on penalties against Bournemouth FC was held at Reading City FC’s Rivermoor Stadium due to on-going pitch renovations at Winchester City FC. Now that those works have been completed – due to FA ruling we have to play at the ground in which we have a shared agreement in place – Winchester City FC.
A further complication came in that Winchester City’s FA Cup round also see’s them play at home and therefore the stadium was not available for use on neither the Friday or the Saturday.
Therefore, after agreements made with our visitors Chichester City and finally clearance from the FA – we are pleased to confirm that the game will now take place under the lights at Winchester City FC.
Ticket allocations will follow a similar suit to that of the previous round in that season ticket holders and community club members will be offered first refusal up until Thursday. They will then go on general sale thereafter.
Following government guidelines and FA rulings we will again be capped by a limited capacity.
We appreciate everyone’s patience in getting this news out whilst we have been awaiting confirmation and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Winchester for an exciting game against Chichester who famously got to the third round of the FA Cup last season.
