The club are pleased to announce official confirmation of the returning Lewis Hayden for the 2021/22 season.
The defensive midfielder made a big impression upon signing from Didcot Town during the early stages of pre-season last year and became an integral member of Dan Brownlie’s squad with his natural ability to read play and break up attacks.
Dan Brownlie said of the news:
“Lewis was a bit of a shot in the dark when we first signed him as he came through a series of recommendations, but we’re really pleased we followed it through as he’s become a huge part of our squad both on and off the pitch. He’s got a great attitude towards football and off the pitch he’s a great guy to have about in the changing rooms.”
“He won a lot of plaudits, particularly inside our own changing room with the amount of work he gets through, and his repeatedly high stats of regaining possession in high areas proved a pivotal point in last years fleeting success. We’re really pleased to have him back, it was a very easy conversation – he loves it here and this club needs characters like him.”
Lewis is currently struggling with a knee injury picked up in our last pre-season friendly but hopes to return to the squad very soon.
