Basingstoke Town can confirm that Reece Rusher has been released from the club.
Dan Brownlie commented:
‘Reece did fantastically well when he came in towards the end of last season; he was a breath of fresh air at an otherwise difficult time. This season it’s been a little stop-start for him and I am sadly unable to guarantee him the minutes I’ve no doubt he’d crave. I wish Reece all the best with his future in both football and his FIFA career.’
Basingstoke Town would like to extend their thanks to Reece for his service over the past year.
Dan Brownlie also added:
‘We released Sonny Wheeler (GK) last week who has since returned to his previous club Bracknell. Bobby has promised him Football where I was sadly unable to. We’ve been looking at a new keeper to challenge the No1 spot and young Huw Holliman, whilst he is only 16 has shown real quality.’
Dan Brownlie was then asked about the possibility of new signings in which he confirmed:
‘We’ve been working very hard on the recruitment front over the past few weeks and our fans can expect to see some new faces in the new year who I believe will add significant quality to our side. Players with the talent and attitude that is truly worthy of a Basingstoke shirt. I want a culture where there is true competition for places, and a changing room that drives us forward.’
