Live Commentary

Live Commentary

Basingstoke Town FC are excited to announce the introduction of live match day (and other) commentary, using the Mixlr streaming platform. Mixlr gives the club the opportunity to stream live and recorded audio, schedule events, integrate streams with social media and, ultimately, provide our supporters with the type of up to the minute content they’re always crying out for and deserve! For those not familiar with the term ‘streaming’ it is akin to listening to the radio but over the Internet.

Mixlr offers the club some great features, including:

  • Live audio streaming (commentary)
  • Scheduled events
  • Integration with social media
  • Ability to record and share content

Nick Wilson
Club Commentator

Nick joins the club as our resident commentator, on a volunteer basis. Nick has been involved in various commentary positions recently, including at Portsmouth and Reading Ladies FC.

“This is just a little piece to introduce myself to everyone following BTFC. My name’s Nick Wilson and you’ll hopefully be hearing a lot of me over the coming season. I’ll be volunteering at the club providing online content in the form of interviews and live commentary through our new Mixlr channel. I’ve previously done commentary for both Portsmouth and Reading’s ladies teams and am really looking forward to this new opportunity.

I first got started watching football during the World Cup in 2002 as England reached the quarter finals, only to be knocked out by Brazil. Once the tournament had finished I followed in the family footsteps in supporting Leeds United, just in time to see them tumble out of the Premier League.

I hope I can help give more access to the players and club and make it easier than ever to follow Basingstoke home and away and keep up to date with all that goes on with the club.

It’s great to be on board and I can’t wait to get going!”
