Basingstoke Town are pleased to announce the signing of 31 year old striker, Ben Dillon.
‘Dills’ previously of Bournemouth FC during his youth and also represented Basingstoke Town as a 17 year old. Ben has also had spells with Hartley Wintney in both management and as a player. We sign the forward from Bermerton Heath FC and we thank them for assistance in making the transfer happen so quickly.
Dan Brownlie commented:
‘I’ve worked with Dills before. He’s a very talented football and we’re pleased to get him in. I learned of his availability some time ago now, but he’s worked incredibly hard over the course of the past few months to get fit as various clubs. Being a Basingstoke boy, I know this club means a lot to him and he was very keen to get on board. He’s a great first touch and certainly knows where the goal is. It’s one of a few positions we’ve wanted to strengthen to allow us greater depth and wider choice.’
Ben Dillon said:
‘I’m buzzing to get started. I feel fitter than ever and know I can offer this club something, I’m really keen to get help take this club forward. I’ve lived in Basingstoke all my life so it means a lot to me that we get this club winning games and I’m proud to be a part of it.’
Ben has travelled with the match day squad to this afternoon’s game versus Barnstaple and is available for selection.
