Volunteer Roles

Volunteer Roles

Like any non-league football club, Basingstoke Town FC relies heavily on volunteer help, in order for the club to provide a high level of service to it’s loyal supporters. Below are some of the current roles available but the club are always looking for volunteers of any type – so if you don’t see anything of interest below, still get in touch to see if you can help in another way.

Camera Operators

BTFC and Face TV are looking for volunteer camera operators to film all football matches during the upcoming 2017/18 season. Forming part of a camera team, the match footage will be used by both the club and potentially the local television channel. Ideal for anyone with an interest in Basingstoke Town Football Club or football in general who would like to gain experience filming coverage of a live event, full equipment and training will be provided.

Match Day Reporters

Football is changing, even at non-league level. Supporters are demanding to be kept in touch with every kick of the ball, home and away, and sponsors are seeking more return on their investments. This is a challenge for a club like BTFC, that relies mainly on the time and effort of volunteers – however, it’s a challenge that we are up for taking on!

We have introduced a number of innovative platforms for our supporters and sponsors to make full use of, platforms such as; Mixlr (for live audio commentary) and Goalshouter (providing live text updates).

We are looking to build a team of match day reporters, that can help bring supporters closer to the action and sponsors the return they are looking for, across the platforms mentioned above, as well as digital signage, the club website and social media.

No experience is necessary (but always valuable) and some of the abilities we believe are required are:

  • Social media experience
  • Previous use of similar match day coverage tools
  • A keen interest in football and sports journalism (or similar)
  • Availability for the majority of home and away matches

Note: Free travel and entry to away games will be provided wherever possible!

If you are interested, please get in touch ASAP as we are already planning for the season.

Gate Attendants

The club are looking for additional gate attendants to help on a match day, taking monies and issuing match day tickets. Anyone interested should contact the club or speak to an official at a home game.
