Trevor Parker

The club are saddened to learn that former manager Trevor Parker has passed away. Trevor was manager of the club along with assistant Roger Badley in the late 1980’s and put together a squad that eventually saw us win promotion to the Isthmian Premier Division. Trevor had manager a number of clubs in Hampshire and Dorset, memorably taking Fareham Town to the FA Trophy semi-final in 1987, where they lost over two legs to Kidderminster Harriers.

Many of our older supporters will remember the squad that Trevor assembled for us to achieve promotion including the likes of Andy Bye, Richie Paskins, John Simpkins and Mark Deacon to name a few. Trevor left to takeover at Bashley just before the end of the season that culminated in us winning promotion with Trevor Williams stepping in alongside Roger to get us ‘over the line’. It was a memorable season, classic games against Kettering Town in the FA Trophy and many late wins in games that were vital in the end.

Trev was also a proper football character – always ready to have a laugh and a joke – as well as hand out a few choice comments if necessary!

Our thoughts are with his family.

We will be holding a minutes silence before Saturdays game v Harrow Borough as a mark of respect.
