Harry Pearse starred in his home debut during Saturday’s win versus Walton Casuals. Scoring the opener and setting up the winner was enough to create a buzz around the Camrose about our new boy in blue.
Upon returning from a scholarship in America, Harry joined Maidenhead United where he was sent out on loan to Chesham. Fast forward a number of weeks and he joined the Dragons.
“Basingstoke is a big club but in truth, the main attraction was that I really wanted to work with The Gaffa. I’ve known him since i was at Reading Academy, and I love his philosophy on how to play the game. I wanted to be at a club that wants to play football, and in turn help me develop as a player.”
Following an impressive home debut, the Basingstoke faithful will be excited to see what the future holds for the midfielder as the early signs are were very promising.
“I loved Saturday. To get a goal on my home debut was fantastic, and helping set up the second after they frustratingly drew level was great. The lads played really well and we showed our maturity seeing the game out.”
“Rest assured I’ll be looking to help Basingstoke get into the top half of the table as quickly as possible. On a personal note, I want my goals and assists to be in the double figures.”
“I’m looking forward to the Boxing Day game against Gosport. If I’m having to sacrifice the array of amazing food and drink on Christmas Day, then we better get the result!!”
Harry will be in the squad for our Boxing Day game versus Gosport Borough away at Privett Park.
