It’s a fourth away match in five games for Basingstoke as they head to Dunstable Town on Saturday, hopeful of picking up a second away league victory of the season against the league’s bottom side. It’s been a difficult campaign for the hosts with just one league win in all so far and defeat in 19 of their 23 matches, leading to a total of 6 points.
‘Stoke will be looking to carry on where they left off against Dunstable last season as goals from Romone Rose, Nana Owusu and Richie Whittingham secured a 3-1 away victory before a second half turnaround at the Camrose saw a 5-1 triumph, by virtue of goals from Matt Partridge, Michael Atkinson, Owusu again and a double from Ashleigh Artwell.
The game gives Basingstoke a good chance to improve recent form, with just one win from the last nine league matches bringing a total of six points out of 27. Dunstable however have lost each of their last ten games in all competitions and have picked up just one point from their last 12 league matches. Basingstoke’s forward line will also be looking forward to the prospect of facing a defence that is averaging 3 goals conceded per game.
