Fans in for a fiver on Saturday!

With the international break looming and therefore no Premier League or Championship football at the weekend, Basingstoke Town are offering admission to Saturday’s match against Banbury United for just £5 for both adults and concessions, with under 16’s being admitted FREE!. It’s all part of a nationwide campaign to attract more people to watch non league football.

And there promises to be goals galore at the Camrose. Fresh from an emphatic victory over high-flying Redditch United, second to top scorers Town face third to top scorers Banbury United in a match between two teams who are strongly committed to an attractive, passing style of football. Both sides are also looking to mount an assault on the playoffs. Added to that, 24 goals in the last 6 matches at the Camrose mean that on recent form, your fiver could almost stretch to a pound per goal!

Banbury United are a Community Club owned by its supporters – in the same way that Basingstoke Town are moving. BT Community FC Secretary Steve Williams said ‘Our young team really showed their growing maturity and promise against Redditch in an excellent  3 goal second half performance’.

New striker Callum Bunting will be looking to add to his debut goal after taking just four minutes to score in a late cameo on Saturday. Added to the firepower of Ben Wright and Sam Smart (17 goals between them), this is a mouthwatering prospect! Can Basingstoke continue their excellent home record with a 5th win from 6 games? Come and find out on Saturday at the Camrose!
