Everyone at Basingstoke Town FC would like to wish Dan Collier the very best for his future both on and off the field.
Dan took the difficult decision after three seasons with the dragons to draw a close to his time with us. After injuring his shoulder earlier in the season it’s been known for sometime that he was to have an operation. This has now been booked this for March with an aim to be back fit for pre season.
A popular member of our first team whose tenacity and determination have received high praise from the Basingstoke faithful and regarded as a player who always gave his all. Known as a defensive midfielder, it’s also worth mentioning that he’s also scored some very important goals for us including a last minute winner against Wimborne earlier in the season.
Dan will remain registered with the club and has offered his services should we ever need the cover.
Dan made a special effort in going over to the fans to say goodbye after our emphatic win versus Staines Town.
“The Gaffer has built and is continuing to build a strong squad. I will of course make myself available until the operation if required but with a new job in central London by time is a little more limited. I have loved the last two and half years here and fans have been brilliant!”
Everybody at Basingstoke Town would like to wish Dan the very best for the future.
